Published Oct 27, 2025

We are excited to introduce the new LV1 80-Channel Expansion option, which grows LV1 to 80 stereo channels, 160 inputs, and 52 buses, plus the new V16 version of LV1 software with exciting new features and improvements.

eMotion LV1 – New V16 Features and 80-Channel Expansion

We are happy to announce big news for eMotion LV1 users!

First, any LV1 Classic mixing console or LV1 64-ch. modular system can now easily grow to 80 mono/stereo channels (160 inputs) and 52 mono/stereo buses with up to 24 monitor auxes – with the new optional LV1 80-Channel Expansion (purchased separately).

Second, the new v16 version of LV1 software adds much-requested new features and improvements, including enhanced DSP efficiency for even more powerful DSP performance; new Scenes & Recall Safe filters; new user keys & shortcuts; Aux Send Flip & Mixer Mode improvements; and much more.

Watch this quick rundown of what’s new:

1. eMotion LV1 80-Channel Expansion

With this new optional expansion, any LV1 64-ch. mixer – whether the LV1 Classic console, or modular systems based on 64-ch. software licenses – can easily grow from 64 to 80 mono/stereo channels, and from 44 to 52 mono/stereo buses.

Since any LV1 channel can be mono (one input) or stereo (two inputs), this expands LV1 to a massive 160 inputs.

The new 8 buses can be deployed in either of two ways:

  • Groups mode – adding 8 more audio groups, for a total of 16 audio groups.
  • Monitors mode – adding 8 monitor auxes, for a total of 24 monitor auxes.

Please note that in order to run the 80-channel version of LV1, you will need a 64-channel LV1 (either LV1 Classic, or an LV1 64-channel software license), updated to v16 (see more info below) – plus the separately purchased eMotion LV1 80-Channel Expansion license.

See full info about the 80-channel expansion here.

2. eMotion LV1 v16: New Features and Improvements

In addition to the new optional 80-ch. expansion, we are also happy to release a new version of LV1 software, v16, with the following new features and enhancements:

  • Enhanced DSP efficiency in LV1 Classic: The same internal DSP unit acts even more efficiently, for even greater processing power than before.
  • Scenes & Recall Safe filters: You can now decide which parameters get recalled or are made safe per channel, no matter what scene is loaded.
  • New user keys & shortcuts: Including dedicated Input/Mix buttons in the 80-channel LV1; and direct mapping of Mixer modes in all LV1 versions, for a faster workflow.
  • Aux Send Flip & Mixer Mode improvements:
    • Aux Send Flip can now be set and controlled in the ALL windows.
    • The Pan knob now doubles as a Send Pan in Send Flip mode, while still allowing Gain and Edit knob functions.
    • Latch Aux Mode keeps you in Flip view, even when navigating elsewhere.
    • Aux Solo now automatically returns you to the aux master, when you un‑cue a channel.
  • More v16 improvements:
    • You can now import any aux mix from session to session.
    • The Solo button now blinks orange, while the Cue button is solid blue – for instantly clear visuals.
    • Input Mixer mode now has a cleaner look, making A/B input switching more intuitive.
    • Various improvements to routing menus and navigation, for a smoother workflow
    • Plugin search has been added to the plugin menu.
    • New keyboard enhancements:
      • Alt now allows instant reset
      • Ctrl can now be used for fine-grained parameter adjustments.
  • Updates to all LV1-related apps: eMo IEM, Dugan Speech, MyMon, MyFOH have all been updated to v16: Support for the LV1 80-channel configuration has been added to all apps, a new Width control for stereo channels has been added to eMo IEM, MyMon, and MyFOH; and more: see all updates here.

Updating to v16 is free for LV1 Classic owners: learn how to update your console here. Users of modular LV1 systems, please note you need to have an active Waves Update Plan for your 64-ch. software license in order to update to v16: learn how to update here.

With these updates and improvements, LV1 is now bigger and faster than ever: We hope these enhancements speed up your workflow, open up new live mixing opportunities, and make your LV1 experience better than ever before.
