How to Control Waves Plugins with MIDI in Cubase

Learn how to set up and control Waves MIDI instruments and plugins in Cubase.

  1. Create a new audio track.

  2. Search for the Waves plugin you wish to use in your insert plugins list and open it on the audio track.

  3. Create a new MIDI track and assign its output to the audio track. If needed, select the chosen Waves plugin in the bottom box.

  4. Open the Waves plugin, right-click on the parameter you wish to control and click Learn.

  5. Send MIDI control infromation to the plugin in one of these 2 ways:
    1. Use a MIDI controller – Set the MIDI track to Record Enable, then move the knob/fader on your controller
    2. Programm it into the MIDI track – program MIDI CC information into a clip on your MIDI track, and hit Play.
  6. Now, the parameter you selected on the plugin is controled by MIDI Control information.
