How to Control Waves Plugins with MIDI in FL Studio

Learn how to set up and control Waves MIDI instruments and plugins in FL Studio.

  1. Import audio to a new FL Studio session. Double-click on the waveform, and set the Track to 1 to assign the audio to an audio track.

  2. Insert a Waves Plugin on the track.

  3. To connect MIDI to the plugin, click the Gear Wheel symbol next to the plugin’s name.

  4. In the Settings window, set the MIDI port to 1.

  5. Make sure that your MIDI controller is sending the MIDI at the same port that the plugin receives.
  6. Open Options in the FL Studio menu at the top right corner.

  7. Select the MIDI controller that you are using, and set the MIDI port to 1. Now the plugin receives MIDI from the desired controller.

  8. Open the Waves plugin, right-click on the parameter you wish to control and click Learn.

  9. Move the knob/fader on your controller.
  10. Now, the parameter you selected on the plugin is controled by MIDI Control information.
