How to Convert Voice to MIDI with OVox in Studio One

Learn how to use the Waves OVox Vocal ReSynthesis / vocoder plugin to convert your vocal performances and recordings to MIDI notation in Studio One.

  1. Create a new audio track and import or record the vocal signal.

  2. Search for OVox in your insert plugins list and open it on the audio track.

  3. Turn on ‘Midi Out’ in the OVox ‘Synth Settings’ tab.

  4. Open a new MIDI track and in its input choose the audio track above. Make sure it is armed for recording.

  5. Inside OVox, use ‘Tolerance” to control the density of the created MIDI notes. You can also use the Note Mapper to fit the notes into scales, generate chords & harmonies or apply the built-in arpeggiator.
